PLAY
Curiouser and curiouser
"...Play is a basic biological necessity that has survived through the evolution of the brain. ... We, as homo sapiens, are fundamentally equipped for and need to play actively throughout our lifespan by nature’s design."
- Dr. Stuart Brown, MD, a physician, psychiatrist, clinical researcher and the founder of the National Institute for Play.
⚒️ BUILDING
Industrial Mirror
I couldn't find the large industrial mirror I wanted, so I decided to build my own. I sketched my design then sourced, measured, and cut the wood pieces. Next, I painted the wood frame black. Finally mounted 12" x 12" mirrors to the wooden frame, and voilà!

🕹 MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING
Ball Buddy
For our Designing Product Interaction course, myself and my classmate were tasked with an assignment to build an interactive box to illicit the emotion of PLAY. The assignment was about the properties of the box and the experience of opening it.
We came up with the concept of 'BALL BUDDY' in which the user is invited to explore the colorful ball pit through the acrylic sides, then follow auditory and physical signifiers to lift the box and experience childhood joy. This project involved sketching, iterating, prototyping, and mechatronics.
